Politics - a subject.

Newspapers today are occupied by election news, parties alliances, constituency declarations etc. Very rarely we could see a different news. I happened to read one such news in a regional daily, last week. Not a big news, it was. Comprising just a ten lines. But the matter discussed was big enough for a research.

The news was about a school in Jharkand. Its been run by a Mr.Rajranjan,  former member of Congress party. It is no ordinary school. The school specialises in Politics. Its been named as Nedhagiri Vidhyalaya.

Nedhagiri Vidhyalaya, is a part time school for Politics. Classes are held for two hours every Saturday. The course duration is six months.

This news turned me on because i had wondered how would it be if there was an institution, exclusively teaching Politics. Of course, Political Science is been offered as a subject in universities for Bachelors and Masters degree. But there is no specialised concern featuring Political Science. We have colleges for Engineering, Medical, Marine, Computers etc. But none for Politics.

We must remember that, we have given the world the bible of political administration, ARTHA SHASTRA. The great man named as Chanakya, born in India, has provided the world, an invaluable asset. With the knowledge of the book, one can rule the whole world.

Our country has produced such legends in Politics. But today, we must feel ashame that people going away from politics, considering it as the path for gundas and criminals.

Youngsters today choose Engineering, Medicine, Information Technology as their career and profession. But why dont anyone even see politics as a career? Isnt it a profession? Doesnt politics offer good money? Its politicians who have all the money in the world today. We want to work in foreign countries or atleast for Multi National Companies, but we would not concentrate on our own country's administration. That is the reason for we are suffering from the fall of IT industry.

During the period of Independence, Politicians were almost Lawyers. They got the previlidge of forming the first ministries of India. But today, Politics is the lure for gundas, criminals, accused etc. Why does this happen? Only because we dont see Politics as a profession. Its just another career like Doctors, Lawyers, Engineers etc.

Just think how will it be if the students stepping out of their high school and choose Politics as their career, they get graduated in the subject and then they enter the nation's administration.

I could not assure that the corruption would still be nullified. Because it would be alive till the man knind lives. But that can be limited. May be, the public interst is placed over the corruption.. I mean to say that,  the educated politician would know better than making his mistakes public. Atlest he would have a common sense and fear, within himself. Another major fact is, civil problems like communal and caste violence can be kept under control. That would help a lot for the national security. Because, this is hte root of Terrorism.

Youth must consider politics as their career. Just think guys, we could not enjoy this freedom, if Gandhiji, Subash Chandra Bose and Nehru would have placed their personal life at the top of the nation.

Its high time we take action over the national adminstration. The nation is speeding on the track of development. But it has no proper control. If this continues, then we are the one, who will have to face the consequencews. Just like the downfall of IT industry. The people who are responsible for such a condition would not be affected at all.

Wake up guys. Lets start a new era. Take the responsibility in our hands. Drive the nation in the path of glory. History awaits us.

Jai Hind.

Indian Premier League - The hurdle race.

The new baby of Indian Cricket, IPL, is approaching its first birthday. But it seems to be affected by illness before it could celebrate the occasion. The new born baby, in April 2008, was accepted with heart filled with joy by the fans of Cricket all over the world. It was celebrated by all the cricketing teams, irrespective of national boundaries. That was a moment when the sports world took a close look at India.

But the success achieved has come by the hard times. There were criticisms saying, Cricket has lost its standards, The gentleman's game has been turned to Gambling. Complaints were arised by the players, stating they were not happy with the auction being held for teams to get their players. But the verdict was out, almost instantly, when the wheels were set in motion. And it was written once the tournament commenced.

The fans enjoyed the format of the game. Its not a surprise that the fans were thrilled to watch Shoaib Malik and Virender Sehwag play on one side. When could someone see an Indian and Pakistani rubbing shoulders? It could be their life's best moment to see Sachin Tendulkar and Sanath Jayasuriya opening the batting. Their passion for the game cannot be expressed more clearly.

But it is with deep regret that we must accept that we have a doubt and a fear, that we shall have the same excitement this year. A year's time has gone so quick, that must be the reviews, memories of the last season and expectaion to the next which has taken us past time so quickly. But this year the conditions are different. Cricket is facing hard times.

I feel it all started with a bomb blast in Pakistan, just outside the hotel, were the Newzealand Cricketers resided, when they toured Pak. Then the security issues were raised and that lead to the postponement of the ICC Champions Trophy, which was scheduled to be held in Pakistan. And then the Champions League, which was scheduled for the winners of IPL, English and Australian County Championship, was postponed as well. The worst thing is the ICC champions world cup has not been clearly re-scheduled yet.

The fact must be accepted that, the attack in Lahore, in Pakistan has a severe effect on Cricketers of the rest of the teams. The bad luck for cricket fans is, that India is about to host it Parliamentary elections at the same time of the IPL. Its obvious that, the elections would be given first priority over IPL, when it comes to security. The Internal Affairs Ministry, has expressed his inability to provide NSG security for the tournament. The state govt and the state Police prefer elections ahead of Cricket.

BCCI and IPL organizers are in a desperate situation. Its impossible for them to drop or postpone the tournament, because we are talking about serious money. And the important fact everyone must understand is, that IPL is a tournament comprising players from all the nations. There isnt a possibility to change the schedule or postpone because it would affect the national schedule of the other teams. That increases the pressure of the organizers. And that doesnt mean that, players safety is meant to be taken for granted.

On the other hand, the players would be willing to play the tounament. for its a change for them to mingle with players, whom they have considered as their opponets. And money matters as well. But they wouldnt risk thier lives for any reasons.

The million dollar question of any Cricket fan, in any part of the worl will, what will be of the IPL 2009? And the solution to this question must be given or found by BCCI.

Dropping, rescheduling or postponement of the tournament is like we have subsided to terrorism. Carrying on the tournament, with inadequate security measures, mean that players life is at stake.

What should the organizers do?

Is Cricket more important, than the lives of the players? Should they take a risk my conducting a tournament on the verge of fear? Is it worth that?

As i said earlier. postponement or dropping would mean that we are submissive to the threat of terrorism. So i think, the BCCI must find out a solution for security problems. That means they must have a foolproof security measures before the commencement of the season. But they cannot rely on NSG or the state Police. They might opt ofr some private security, with the permission of the govt and all the nations, from which players participate. But that shall not be advisable because, the reliability factor stands low. But this is an option the organizers shall consider.

The security from other cricketing nations shall be a choice if the govt doesnt consider it as a security threat to the nation.

When we consider such options, we may feel that, do we want a tournament with so much risk involved in it? But we must understand that, its not as a cricket fan we want the IPL, but as a hardcore patriot, to show the terrorists that you cannot take us so easily. We want to send them a message, that we are ready to fight till the last drop of blood pour out of our body. We dont want them to win. Atleast not in sports.

This makes us clear that nations must stand united to conduct the IPL 2009. And that means the owrld is united uner the roof of Cricket today, and would be under the roof of sports very soon, to fight the terrorism not out of sports, but out of the world.

Lets pray for that to happen. And Lets make it happen if we get a chance.

LTTE the sorrow of SriLanka or India

One of the most debated topics in TN today is the issue of Lankan Tamils. The upcoming election has a great effect on this. This topic has been emphasised almost by all the parties in TN, since the announcement of the election dates. We could notice some parties have taken a shift of sides after this announcement.

The wonderful thing in this issue is, the politicians who claim that they wanna solve this problem doesnt know what they want the govt to do, or what the people in Sri Lanka want. Everyone who request Indian Govt to stop supporting the Lankan Army. But they dont say why should they stop. Or they could not even prove that the Indian govt support Lankans. But the Indian Govt has its own reasons to support the Lankan govt. And so does Mrs.Sonia Gandhi, who directs the govt. How anyone say that India must not take any action against a group that has assasinated our prime minister in a most cruel manner ever in the history of the nation.

We shall not have any doubt in the fact that the Sri Lankan govt must stop killing innocent people of the Lankan Tamils. But that does not mean we must support LTTE, which has a major hand in the assasination of our prime minister. We shall take sides against the Sri Lankan govt, But could not join forces with LTTE.

The intentions of LTTE has been clear throughout the history. They have destroyed all the other revolutionary troops that were fighting for the same cause. And in relationship with India, They have always had a policy of red alert. They have made it clear that they want the help from Indian govt, but they do not want India. That means they fear that we may take things for granted if we help them to get a free nation. Their response to the support we gane to them during the period of Mrs. Indira Gandhi has proveds this intention of theirs.

The thing that is most annoying is that some politicians in TN, provide their own evidence and theory stating that LTTE is not involved in the assasination of Mr.Rajiv Gandhi. Its a shame on our nation. They are making a clear statement that they are against the nation by such false theories. Of course we ve to accept that we have a doubt that there may be a few congress leaders at that period would have a hand in this. But that doesnt meant that LTTE are innocent. And this can be substantiated by the response of Mr.Prabhakaran, chief commander of LTTE to the question regarding the assasination of the former PM. He stated that it was one of the sad incident. This almost means he accpets the part they have played in the act. And people who talk against this are definitely insulting the intelligence of the team that investigated the case. And we must remember that it is one of the masterpiece among the investigations made by the CBI.

People must consider the politicians who raise this issue. This means just a publicity stunt to them. Not one politician could say that they support the innocent people belong to Tamil clan. A true politician would give a first priority to the problem in Kashmir. They would raise the nation to retreive the Pakistan Occupied Kashmir. The nation is in desperate problems rather than supporting the and provide Lankan army with weapons. We must safe guard ourselves from attacks like in Mumbai and bombblasts in Delhi and Bangalore. We people must not give room to create communal violence.

The election is approaching, we must select a govt. A govt that will lead India in the path of development, that will find solutions to all its problems.

People in Tamil Nadu must make themselves clear that we shall support the Tamils in Sri Lanka, but not LTTE. We cant let the people who kiiled our Prime Minister slip away.
